The EDGE Grand Opening – Oct 14, 2017

The EDGE Grand Opening is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 10 AM until Noon. We encourage all Inside Edge players, parents and coaches to stop by and join the celebration. IE will crown a home-run derby champion! Will it be you?

Here is the official announcement from the EDGE:

The EDGE Opens In Lee’s Summit

Indoor Baseball and Softball Training Facility Accepting New Athletes

The EDGE, an indoor baseball and softball training facility, has its grand opening on October 14, from 10 AM until Noon.

The opening will include self-guided tours of the facility, demonstrations, a HitTrax Home Run Derby, and the opportunity to watch professional pitchers workout.

“We are excited to show off the facility,” said Todd Clausen, co-founder of The EDGE and director of player development for Inside Edge baseball Academy. “We have worked hard to design and build a highly functioning space and will use the opening festivities to show how it benefits baseball and softball players of all ages and abilities.”

The Edge, located at the intersection of MO-291 and MO-150, is a 10,000 square-foot facility that features training space for pitchers, hitting tunnels, a HitTrax batting simulator, and other amenities aimed at baseball player development. The Edge is operated under a unique partnership between Inside Edge Baseball Academy and Premier Baseball KC. Under the partnership, Premier will use the facility for offering private lessons to the general public, and Inside Edge will utilize the facility and training tools for its academy players.

The address for The Edge is 213 SE State Hwy 150, Lee’s Summit, MO.

The EDGE is hosting an equipment drive to benefit the RBI program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. RBI players can benefit from gloves, bats, catcher’s gear, batting helmets, baseball pants or cleats. Guest are asked to bring any new or gently used equipment to the grand opening. The RBI program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City gives boys and girls, ages 5-18, the opportunity to play baseball and softball, all the while learning the importance of teamwork, leadership and life skills. The Program was founded in 1996 with partnership from the Kansas City Royals, KCMO Parks & Recreation Department and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Immediately following the grand opening, Premier Baseball will host pitching, hitting, and fielding clinics for youth and high school players. Clinics will last for approximately 1 hour each and will put players through a variety of drills to improve skills. Clinics are $25 each. All players must register in advance:

Elite baseball training provider expands services to second location, The Edge

Lenexa, KS (September 5, 2017) – Premier Baseball, a specialized baseball training provider, is expanding to a second location in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. It seems only yesterday that Inside Edge opened its doors and welcomed 7 teams into the baseball academy. Now, only 4 years later, the Academy has grown to include 16 teams and around 200 baseball players.

“It’s been awesome to watch the Academy grow,” said Todd Clausen, Inside Edge Baseball Academy founder and director of player development. “We had a vision when we started and our growth is a testament to our dedication to player development. With growth also comes new opportunity, and we’re super excited to announce that Inside Edge is expanding through a unique partnership with Premier Baseball Kansas City.”

Inside Edge and Premier are teaming up to open The Edge, a 10,000 square foot indoor baseball training facility.

Located at the intersection of MO-291 and MO-150, The Edge will feature dedicated pitcher training space, five hitting tunnels, a HitTrax batting simulator, and other amenities aimed at player development.

“The concept is a simple one: provide the space and tools that help our players to develop their baseball skills,” added Clausen. “Partnering with Premier allows us to achieve this while also offering Premier’s proven training programs to our players.”

Inside Edge Kicks Off Spring Season

The 2017 season is off to a great start. With almost all youth teams in action this week, here are 5 things you need to know:

  1. LSBA National League started this week. It was exciting to see all the Inside Edge players, coaches, and parents representing Edge. 10u White came out swinging in league games! The night started with a Happy Birthday celebration for Bennett Weaver. The party carried over to the field, with the team winning both league games. The night was highlighted by a bomb hit by Landen Danuser. He sent the ball screaming into the parking lot! Hopefully, no one walked out to a busted windshield.
  2. 10u Red dominated the  AAYSC Spring Bash! The boys scored 13 while giving up only 7 runs in 4 games, ending with a 4-0 record. Peron Luster threw a complete game, striking out 10 in a commanding no-hitter. Sam Hedrick followed, striking out 9 in a one-hitter complete game. Look for great things from the 10u Red team. This is the second tournament for the boys and they have walked away with 2 championships!
  3. The 12u Red team took the short drive to Tiffany Springs for the KC Sports Global NIT. The highlight of the weekend was a combined no-hitter game. The boys didn’t win the championship but they did bring home a little hardware.
  4. 14u Red kicked off the season playing in the invite-only Perfect Game PGBA KC – Spring Training Tournament. Top teams from around the midwest were in town to showcase their talents. 14u Red looked strong against the best of the midwest. Cam Careswell was selected as a stand-out player in the tournament. He went home with an arm-full of PG swag.
  5. The weekend wrapped up with an awesome fundraiser for the 11u team. The boys suited up Sunday evening and hosted families for dinner at Johnny’s Tavern. Thank you to everyone who came out in support of the team!

Overall, it was a great week for the IE teams! Everyone should be extremely proud of their effort.
