Drew Dickerson and Austin Marsh, who played this past season for Simpson’s 13u team, were selected to play in the USSSA All American Games. The games are played at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Florida, July 28 and August 3, and feature top athletes from across the United States. Athletes who are selected to play in the games are evaluated by the top players and coaches in baseball based on skill level and overall athleticism. The selected athletes represent their regional team where they compete against the other regional teams in the All American Games. The eight regions include the Far West, Northwest, Midwest, Central, Great Lakes, Southeast, Atlantic, and Northeast.

Drew and Austin were selected to play on Central Regional teams, with Drew playing on the 13u team and Austin playing on the 12u team due to his birth date. Both teams competed in pool play for the opportunity to advance to bracket play. The 13u won the first bracket game but lost the next games two games by walk-offs, and finished 13th out of 16 teams. The 12u team fared a bit better and finished 4th out of 16 teams.

When asked about the experience, Austin’s excitement showed when he said, “It’s been great meeting players from around the country. Playing with and against some of the best players in the US has motivated me to work even harder. Being selected and playing in the All-American Games has been an amazing experience and one that I will never forget it.”

He added that “the Space Coast Complex is awesome!”

Drew shared in the excitement, saying “I loved playing in the USSSA All American games. It was a blast playing with and against kids from other states. I hope to do it again next year.”

Thank you, USSSA Baseball and coaches for recognizing these great athletes. Congratulation Drew and Austin!
