It seems only yesterday that Inside Edge opened its doors and welcomed 7 teams into the baseball academy. Now, only 4 years later, the Academy has grown to include 16 teams and around 200 baseball players.
“It’s been awesome to watch the Academy grow,” said Todd Clausen, Inside Edge Baseball Academy founder and director of player development. “We had a vision when we started and our growth is a testament to our dedication to player development. With growth also comes new opportunity, and we’re super excited to announce that Inside Edge is expanding through a unique partnership with Premier Baseball Kansas City.”
Inside Edge and Premier are teaming up to open The Edge, a 10,000 square foot indoor baseball training facility.
Located at the intersection of MO-291 and MO-150, The Edge will feature dedicated pitcher training space, five hitting tunnels, a HitTrax batting simulator, and other amenities aimed at player development.
“The concept is a simple one: provide the space and tools that help our players to develop their baseball skills,” added Clausen. “Partnering with Premier allows us to achieve this while also offering Premier’s proven training programs to our players.”
Premier Baseball Kansas City provides specialized baseball training, arm care programs for pitchers, and private lessons in hitting and pitching. Premier has applied its approach to baseball training with top players in Kansas City, including top MLB draft picks Rylie Pint and Joey Wentz. Premier will provide services at The Edge to both IE players and the general public.
The Edge is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in August 2017. A grand opening celebration is being planned.
Inside Edge will continue to operate in the current space at 1190 SE Century Drive. That space will remain dedicated to IE team practices and IE member hours. IE teams will also use The Edge for team practices and individual workouts. Discounts will be provided to all IE players that choose to use any services at The Edge.
