12u Red Showing Off Hardware from the KC Sports Global NIT

The 2017 season is off to a great start. With almost all youth teams in action this week, here are 5 things you need to know:

  1. LSBA National League started this week. It was exciting to see all the Inside Edge players, coaches, and parents representing Edge. 10u White came out swinging in league games! The night started with a Happy Birthday celebration for Bennett Weaver. The party carried over to the field, with the team winning both league games. The night was highlighted by a bomb hit by Landen Danuser. He sent the ball screaming into the parking lot! Hopefully, no one walked out to a busted windshield.
  2. 10u Red dominated the  AAYSC Spring Bash! The boys scored 13 while giving up only 7 runs in 4 games, ending with a 4-0 record. Peron Luster threw a complete game, striking out 10 in a commanding no-hitter. Sam Hedrick followed, striking out 9 in a one-hitter complete game. Look for great things from the 10u Red team. This is the second tournament for the boys and they have walked away with 2 championships!
  3. The 12u Red team took the short drive to Tiffany Springs for the KC Sports Global NIT. The highlight of the weekend was a combined no-hitter game. The boys didn’t win the championship but they did bring home a little hardware.
  4. 14u Red kicked off the season playing in the invite-only Perfect Game PGBA KC – Spring Training Tournament. Top teams from around the midwest were in town to showcase their talents. 14u Red looked strong against the best of the midwest. Cam Careswell was selected as a stand-out player in the tournament. He went home with an arm-full of PG swag.
  5. The weekend wrapped up with an awesome fundraiser for the 11u team. The boys suited up Sunday evening and hosted families for dinner at Johnny’s Tavern. Thank you to everyone who came out in support of the team!

Overall, it was a great week for the IE teams! Everyone should be extremely proud of their effort.
